Options (Master Schedule Generator)

Scheduling > Maintenance > Master Schedule Generator > Generate Campus Schedule > Options

This tab allows you to set options for the Master Schedule Generator, which is used to generate the campus master schedule for next year.


Maintain settings:

❏ Enter the following:

Assign Teachers

Select if you want to assign an instructor to each course-section created.

Override Teacher Free Time

Select to assign instructors to sections that meet during a period designated as free time for the instructor. (The instructor's free time is set in the Free Time section on Maintenance > Master Schedule Generator > Resource Allocator > Instructors.)

Generate if Unable to Assign Tchr

Select if you selected Assign Teachers and want the Master Schedule Generator to create a course-section even if an instructor is not available to be assigned to the section.

Daily Consecutive Tchr Limit

Type the maximum number of periods an instructor can teach in a row.

For example, if you have a seven-period day and type 6, the instructor will always have at least one free period, because the instructor cannot be scheduled for more than six periods in a row.

Assign Rooms

Select if you want to assign a room to each course-section created.

Override Room Free Time

Select to assign rooms to sections that meet during a period designated as free time for the room. (The room's free time is set in the Free Time section on Maintenance > Master Schedule Generator > Resource Allocator > Rooms.)

Generate if Unable to Assign Room

Select if you selected Assign Rooms and want the Master Schedule Generator to create a course-section even if a room is not available to be assigned to the section.
