Security Administration > Manage Users
This page is used to create, edit, and delete users. You can assign various roles to each user, which include permissions to various components of ASCENDER. Each user can be assigned one or more roles, pay frequencies, campuses, and warehouses.
After creating users and performing other functions, you must exit any applications to which you are logged on to refresh the security permissions.
Retrieve an existing user. |
To perform a search for all users, under Search Criteria, click Find. To perform a search for an existing user, enter the following information under Search Criteria:

❏ Under Results, select the desired user(s) for which you want to make changes.
❏ Click either the Assign Frequencies or Unassign Frequencies buttons to assign/unassign pay frequencies.
Assign Frequencies |
Click to assign pay frequencies to the selected user(s). The Assign Pay Frequencies pop-up window is displayed with a list of established payroll frequencies. Select the payroll frequencies to assign to the user(s). Click OK to assign the frequencies and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel to close the pop-up window without assigning frequencies. |

Unassign Frequencies |
Click to unassign pay frequencies from the selected user(s). The Unassign Pay Frequencies pop-up window is displayed with a list of established payroll frequencies. Select the payroll frequencies to be unassigned from the user(s). Click OK to unassign the frequencies and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel to close the pop-up window without unassigning frequencies. |
❏ Click either the Assign Warehouses or Unassign Warehouses buttons to assign/unassign warehouses.
Assign Warehouses |
Click to assign warehouses to the selected user(s). The Assign Warehouses pop-up window is displayed with a list of established warehouses. Select the warehouses to be assigned to the user(s). Click OK to assign the selected warehouses and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel to close the pop-up window without assigning warehouses. |

Unassign Warehouses |
Click to unassign warehouses to the selected user(s). The Unassign Warehouses pop-up window is displayed with a list of established warehouses. Select the warehouses to be unassigned from the user(s). Click OK to unassign the selected warehouses and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel close the pop-up window without unassigning warehouses. |
❏ Click either the Assign Roles or Unassign Roles buttons to assign/unassign roles.
Assign Roles |
Click to assign roles to the selected user(s). The Assign Roles pop-up window is displayed. Under Roles, a list of established roles is displayed. Select the roles to be assigned to the user(s). Under Campuses, a list of established campuses is displayed. Select the campuses to be associated with the role. Click OK to assign the selected role and associated campuses and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel to close the pop-up window without assigning roles. |

Unassign Roles |
Click to unassign roles to the selected user(s). The Unassign Roles pop-up window is displayed. A list of established roles is displayed. Select the roles to be unassigned from the user(s). Click OK to unassign the selected role and close the pop-up window. Otherwise, click Cancel to close the pop-up window without unassigning roles. |
Restore Users |
❏ Click Restore Users to restore a user profile that has previously been deleted.

Edit User |
❏ From the Manage Users page, under Search Criteria, click Find to perform a search for all users. Or, to perform a search for a specific user, enter data in one or more of the search fields.
❏ Click Edit User to update the roles and responsibilities associated with the user. The Edit User page is displayed.
Notes: A component that is cleared is displayed in red. For example, if Maintenance is cleared, Maintenance is displayed in red. If a component has a subcategory that is cleared, the upper-level title is displayed in italics. For example, if Utilities has many sublevels, one of which has been cleared, Utilities is displayed in italics denoting that not everything under Utilities is granted permission. If read-only is selected, the component is displayed in brown. The component must be selected along with the read-only option. ❏ Click Save. |

Delete User |
To completely delete a user from Security Administration, complete the following steps in the order in which they are listed: ❏ District Administration > Workflow
❏ District Administration > Maintenance > User Profiles
❏ Security Administration > Manage Users
A message indicating that the user was deleted successfully is displayed at the bottom of the page.
Note: Administrative users cannot be deleted. If an administrative user is selected, a message is displayed indicating that the administrative user's properties cannot be changed. |
New User |
❏ Click New User to create a new user. The Create User page is displayed. |
