TxEIS Scheduling - Preliminary Requirements

The Scheduling Preliminary Requirements include preparing the district and campus master schedule and entering student course requests for secondary campuses. These steps are required whether you do manual, automated, or combination scheduling.

Before You Begin:

Courses

Update District and Campus Options

  1. Set district-level scheduling options.
  2. For each campus, set campus-level scheduling options.
  3. Update the txMyZone student message.

Delete Last Year Course-Sections and Create Current Year Courses

  1. For each campus, delete campus scheduling data from last year.
  2. Delete district scheduling data from last year.
  3. Create next year district courses.
  4. Create next year campus courses.
  5. Create next year proxy courses.
  6. Add and update instructor records for those who will be teaching next year, and delete those who will be leaving.




Students

NOTE: Next year students must be pre-registered to be included in scheduling.

Transfer Students to Next Year Campus (for Scheduling Purposes)

  1. Clear and assign year-end-status codes.
  2. Transfer students to the next year campus.
  3. (Optional) Assign team codes.

Enter Student Course Requests

  1. Modify course requests as needed.




Reports

Run Preliminary Requirements reports.




Backup

Export and back up student course requests as a precaution.
